A
Message from Bob
I
began my career as a commercial artist and technical illustrator,
so I was quite excited when the opportunity presented itself for
me to cross over to the world of fine art.
My
former art experiences and training enabled me to move naturally
into painting Realism and Trompe L’oeil. My paintings reflect
the diversity of my life. I have lived on both the East Coast and
in the Southwest. I have traveled and been to places whose memories
will always remain embedded in my mind. I enjoy the diversity of
subjects available to me, especially in the Southwest. Moving to
the Southwest many years ago, gave me a totally new perspective
of nature and our true historical culture.
Generally,
I begin with a sketch of my ideas. From there I scale the sketch to
the working surface. Because of the detail in my work, I apply a fixative
to secure them, as I progress into the painting process. My preferred
medium is oil; however, I enjoy working with pastels as well. |

In
order for me to continue to grow as an artist, I need to constantly
be learning and using my capabilities to their fullest potential.
I want to provide the viewer of my nostalgic works with an escape
from the hectic lifestyle of today, into one of the serenity of
yesterday. And to
viewers of my whimsical toys , I extend an invitation to come with
me to a celebration of life, and enjoy these conversation pieces
with their friends and families.
I
want to take my viewers along with me to a period, or a personal
memory in life, that was without question a totally different reality. |
