The painted frame of this work has tricked many an eye into believing
that what they are viewing is an actual frame. The insert on the Western
Cowboy card, is of the little boy’s visualization of one of
the scenes from his books. Note that the signature of the artist appears
to be tacked to the face of the cupboard. The boy is apparently also
dreaming of the button candies which he would prefer over a cup of
coffee. |
